At RIT, you’ll live and study with more than 2,600 international students from over 100 countries. Besides, more than 2,000 students of color have elected to study at RIT, embodying our commitment to diversity. Adding a social and educational dynamic not found at any other university are more than 1,000 deaf and hard-of-hearing students supported by RIT’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf. RIT has long recognized the importance of diversity to organizational growth and synergy. The university has been recognized as a prestigious “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity magazine three consecutive years (2016, 2017, 2018). Besides, RIT is also a four-time recipient of the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award.

Many of RIT’s students live in RIT residence halls, suites, studios, apartments, townhouses, and at the RIT Inn and Conference Center. Also, there are free-standing Greek houses that accommodate six of our fraternities and sororities. Incoming first-year students are guaranteed RIT housing.
